Coach Rachel
I’m Coach Rachel! When I was 5, I discovered my love for cheerleading, which led to 13 years competing in elite cheer. I started on a recreational team and was soon invited to join a competitive team. As a military child, I spent my youth on elite teams in various states then in college I coached for 3 years. I soon lost touch with coaching while having my children: Bentley, Pyper, and Lila. At age 5, Pyper’s love for cheer sparked after seeing a team perform, making it an easy choice for me to start looking into coaching again. My husband got stationed here in PCB, where I stumbled upon the Panhandle Hurricanes.
This will be my second year coaching our Hurricanes. My favorite part of this gym is the bonds that have been formed, the joy on the kids’ faces when they master a new skill, and watching them grow both as individuals and as a team. I love seeing their faces as they throw their skills with confidence and SASS on the mat. It’s a special moment for a coach when something they have been working so hard to achieve finally hits on that comp floor that we can’t help ourselves but to jump and cheer for them with pride!
I’m so excited to watch these teams shine this year. I feel blessed to be able to work with this amazing group of kids. I look forward to helping feed their passion for this sport, supporting and guiding them as my past coaches did for me, and seeing them sparkle in that spotlight!
